WOW!!!! Who knew that a flare could even cause hair loss? Maybe this explains (in part) why I’ve lost my hair and after over two years, it is still barely growing back!! Oh how I LOVE answers!!

  1. I suffer from low iron. I really know it’s low when my fingernails start peeling, hair is falling out and NO medication helps my RLS. I get iron infusions at the hospital, one about every 6 months and take B12 shots monthly, at home. As soon as that iron travels through my body I cannot believe how much more energy I have! RLS is under control! Great article!!! I learned you are not tested for iron (ferritin levels) in standard blood panels. You must ask to have your ferritin levels checked, it’s the protein that carries the iron.

    1. I am repeatedly tested for Iron and it’s never been low. I almost wish it was so there was help for it. I’m glad you have something that works for you!!

      1. Just to be thorough (and I’m sure you already have), but ask for your hemoglobin AND ferritin test results. The other culprit is protein but that’s a story for another time! 😊
