What It’s Like Living With Fibromyalgia: My Guest Blog Post

Hi Everyone!! I’m sorry I haven’t written a post recently, but a family emergency has been dominating my life. I hope to get back to normal soon and return to writing regularly. I miss all of you!!

While I normally never “reblog” articles, I recently wrote a Guest Blog Post for Georgina at https://www.chronillicles.com

Georgina is doing a really great series of guest blog posts: “What It’s Like Living With”. I thoroughly enjoyed working with her and writing the article: “What It’s Like Living With Fibromyalgia”. Please feel free to pop over to her site to read my post, as well as posts from other people living with varying medical conditions. She has some other really great content on her Blog too!!

When I wrote the post, I really wanted it to be different from anything I’ve previously written on my own Blog and decided to write it from the perspective of a day in the life with Fibro.

Here is an excerpt:

” I wish I knew my life, as I knew it, would end when I was 37. I wish I could have had more time to become all that I aspired to be. Now, 8 years later, I am a shadow of my former self. I have learned in these 8 years that this life is what I make of it; sick or not. Wallowing in who and what I was is no longer something I do. Hoping for a better tomorrow is”.

Much love to you all, Stace

  1. I totally understand and appreciate you sharing your life. My doctor prescribed Hydroxyzine 25 mg 1 three x day for my nausea. It really, really helps! I usually take half tablet and save taking a whole tablet for when it’s “bad”. This drug is actually a antihistamine, which is good for me since I found out through allergy testing I’m allergic to almost all trees and feathers. Side effects, it’s very drying so you get dry mouth. Benefit? You are not hugging the toilet. Hugs and love. 🤗❤️

    1. Thank you so much for that tip and for reading and commenting on my blog. I do wish the Zofran worked better for me. It doesn’t always knock out the nausea, but it helps sometimes. My Doctor and I did discuss trying a different medicine, but she felt it was safest to stick with the Zofran. I’m glad you have something that works well for you! The nausea is the worst!! I’ll make a note of the Hydroxyzine, though, and this suggestion make work great for someone else. Thanks so much!!

      1. Is the nausea from fibromyalgia? I have fibromyalgia that was caused by an autoimmune disease and as a single parent I had a horrible time with nausea, I’d drag myself out of the house, sometimes with clothes on and sometimes with my pj’s still and start driving my kids to school and then just vomit all over myself, my kids were late alot! The school started complaining until I told them that I frequently threw up or got the diarrhea on the way to school much to my kids horror! I didn’t know it was from the fibromyalgia though!

      2. Hi Debbie! I’m so sorry you suffer like this! It’s awful, I know! Yes, Fibro can cause nausea, as well as a plethora of other gastrointestinal issues, like IBS. I don’t think there’s any body system that’s left untouched by Fibro. For me, I get a double whammy, with the Dysautonomia, but I have now heard from many readers without that, who suffer from some pretty rotten bouts of frequent nausea.

  2. Oh Stacey thank you so much for sharing your chronic illness in pictures how inspiring this is to me! Fighting through my rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia has certainly left me for lack of words and hard to escape my feelings of my overwhelming pain and body changes 💔but pressing forward through all of this and finding my normalcy in all of this is exactly what I’m doing ❤️

    1. I can completely relate, Shelly. Sometimes the pain is so bad, I’m not sure I can live through it. Clearly, I always do and sometimes, that really shocks me. However, when I finally do get up, like you, I always try to make the most of my life. While my “most” is very different than what I expected it would be, it’s all about making this life I have the best it can be. I’m really glad you liked my post and commented. Thank you!! Sorry it took so long for a response, I’m not feeling well. Continue all you’re doing, Shelly!! Continuing to try is some of the best medicine around!!
      Much Love ❤️️ Stace

ps I’m nearly “drunk” with Fibro Fog today-so forgive me if my response is inarticulate. I just wanted to ensure I responded!
